I dig it, but I almost want to see the horse head a little bigger and/or darker!? Something about the spacing or sizing just looks a little off. And I might consider taking a little K out of the red color, and (last thing!) have you considered doing the same thing that you did to "Ranch" to "American" - but make it arch up instead of down- kind of book-ending painthorse?
I agree with Sara on bookending Painthorse.... but I can totally see this as a very patriotic symbol as well. You really have something here.... you may want to consider adding one more star on both sides of the lone star that you already have (make them a little smaller) and put the word "American" in red, "Painthorse" in white and "Ranch" in blue
Great symbol for the horses head, very striking. Agree that perhaps more than one star would look better, although I would go with 3. I imagine the symbol would look great on its own with stars below it whenever the need would arise to use it in that way.
