Symbol for a new bakery and coffee shop.
Hi, i'm new in this forum, today i want to present you this work in progress logo; The client is a couple that are opening a new bakery and coffee shop, they hire me to do the logo and for now i'm working in the concept of the symbol, because they don't have the name for the shop yet, for now the only requirement was to represent in a symbol what the store sells, coffee and bread, for that i merge a coffee bean with a bread; i know that i need to polish the symbol, do the measures with a grid and all that stuffs, but for now i just want to present the idea and the concept for the symbol. When they decide the name of the store, i will post a second more complete version.

Very clever. I first saw it as a coffee and sandwich shop, but I am certain as you progress, the bakery side will shine!

I wonder if this would look better horizontal. I feel the loaf of bread should be on top. Maybe it's just me.
Would also be nice to see some color, but I realize this isn't complete yet. I approve of the idea, though.

This is great. Simple, easy to identify, etc...
Some ways I'd like to see it:
Horizontal, bread on top
Horizontal with maybe some steam coming off the bread (always bread on top). I don't think the steam would make it better, but I would be interested in seeing what it looked like.
Can't wait until they get a name and see what it looks like with type.
