I like the simplicity of this. Very clean. I think there is a great idea here with mixing the aperture idea with a wave. The typical aperture symbol has been done SO many times, but this is a fresh way of going about it. Right now the gradation in the shades is too subtle. It will not show up 80% of the time. I think I like the idea of it being constrained in a circle since it references the camera lens, but I would suggest making a few other versions where the wave and aperture are free to form together without the circle. You could create something a little more dynamic that has more of a feeling of motion. The typography is pretty simple, but I think that works with this logo...just try a few others in my opinion since this isn't exciting. But like I said it works. Also I really like the color. Overall nice job, but I think there is probably a more effective way of doing this awesome idea of a wave and aperture.
You have a nice start, for sure. The aperture idea doesn't bother me; you managed to utilize it in a neat way.
My only issues lie with the text. It seems very rigid and motionless, contradictory to the name. Try something a bit more lively.
I'm also not sure orange best compliments this logo.
Nice. That's a pretty original take on the aperture idea, which tends to be overdone for photographers but you've brought something new to it and freshened it up. It's not immediately obvious that it's an iris, initially it's a wave in motion.
I like the font selection, it's very modern and clean. I almost think you need a line of subcopy, something like "event photography", just to clarify what kind of service your business performs.
I like the muted color but I think it's important for you to do one in only black and white. Very often wedding photos will have the photographer's logo at the bottom superimposed over the image, and this doesn't work in color, it should be all black or all white (depending on the background of the photo in question). That may be difficult with the shading of the aperture unless you use some kind of transparency.
Overall though, I'd say this is good work. You're definitely on the right track.
I don't think there's anything wrong with having the logo in color and a watermark/corner logo black/white.
The font's growing on me, too.
