Nice Symbol. Maybe work on the Typography a little. It's a little dull and not aligned. Work on that and it will be great. Keep it Sans Serif.

Hmm a key huh? I love the directions you're going with the symbol and the colors, and I agree with kaosme that it needs to have a better font, but why not add ridges into the key blade portion? I at first thought that it was a sort of magnifying glass, and then a mix between a lollipop and a test tube! Personally the little circle things confuse me.

Circles are ok. Modern keys are like that. Yet there is something to be done to the symbol, that you would be able to say, "Yes, that's what I need!" Maybe something towards negative space and a hidden pair of boots and a key in the type itself? Look here fore inspiration:

i agree that the circles are ok but i think the foot prints need more work to look more realistic, when i first looked at the thumbnail i thought they were bowling pins! i like the typography but i think you need to try to find a way of connecting it to the symbol as they almost look like two separate things at the moment. keep working on it!
