Bonsai social media

Brief from client
We want a logo that expresses our services with a single look, but should include a bonsai and show flow or interaction.
It should be simple and minimalist.
The company is dedicated to digital social media.

I don't really see a bonsai tree, looks more like a cloud. And the curve at the bottom in both the blue and green side is awkward. I think it could be a good logo if the bonsai tree was worked on a bit more!
I agree with j.o.y. I too saw a cloud. Add a bit more detail to the bonsai, and consider losing the gradient. Not sure it needs it.
Gradients and additional outline swoopies are not simple and minimalist.
It is still a good idea, but it needs refinement.
Also, with the tree, it looks a bit like a mushroom cloud drifting in the wind. Not something I would tie to a Japanese name. I do think if you put the work into making it look more like a bonsai tree you might be on to something. You also might try making Bonsai more bold and taking the size of your symbol down.
