Finish Line Lawn Care

Brief from client
Lawn care company
The customer wanted the checkered flags, a commercial grade lawn mower, and the "lines in the grass". Those were the things they wanted the most.
Very clean way to put all of these elements together into a single symbol. I could see this as a decal on the side of a silverado. The only thing that bothers me is the grass outline on the bottom. Would it look better as just another green strip to match the top? Just a thought.
This really looks like you put this together using clipart. The name has lawn care in it...you don't have to use a guy riding a lawn mower. I am just not really liking this. I would like to see what other ideas you sketched out.
Well, the client insisted they wanted a guy on a commercial lawn mower, so i cant really change that up. I agree that it is very redundant, but ultimately im not the one to make the decision. If they want it that bad, then they will have it in some way or another.
Also, as far as the clipart remark, what makes it feel like that? im not sure what about it makes it feel like clipart.

Thanks for the input. I will try out the strip at the bottom opposed to the grass and see how it turns out!

Put a guy behind green stroke and try to simplify guy. The audience loves simple, good looking and easy to remember logo.
Also, horizontal lines of flag's squares aren't in the line with borderlines of the flag.
Vroom!
Ha, that would be so awesome
