Fitness Retreats

Brief from client 

All-inclusive fitness programme catering to small groups.

I'm hoping the logo speaks for itself. What do you interpret?

I like the idea and the execution of it.

I'm not sure about the cut off N, but it's legible.

I think the block behind retreats takes away the attention from the great symbol. I would remove that block. Make the type lighter.

I don't like the colors. They don't say fitness. They feel like a tools shop. I would use brighter and bolder colors.

I personally don't like the green. It was my first alternative to the deep red I originally chose because it symbolises health, which usually goes along with fitness.

I went for the deep red and hard edges because this is supposed to be a very intense programme for fit, active types.

Anyway, my client actually settled on a design I proposed before this one, unfortunately lol.

The symbol concepts nice, I like it. I think you need to dull down the typography all together it draws the attention away from the symbol and competes instead of complements it.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how the type distracts from the logo. They both have very similar characteristics. Can you elaborate?

Great idea! but the symbol does not comunicate freedom, open spaces, it seems a good symbol for a gym. I don't like even the font. I think, the center of the idea is not the physical activity but the place where you do it.

Thanks, Nifty! I wanted this logo to speak "fitness" more so than "retreats" so I'm glad it doesn't communicate freedom. This business is not for people looking for a vacation, which is probably why it's reminiscent of a gym. It's targeted at the real active types, who will be investing a lot (time and money) into the programme.

The entire thing is run by one personal trainer/boxer anyway, haha.

I like the logo but changing up the colors may help it pop better. Nicely done logo.
