I appreciate Monito's attempt, but I think the overall idea of cutting into the vertical stroke of the initial "F" is a bad one. I'm not sure there could ever be a proper balance of positive and negative space to pull this off, especially between the letterforms. And, the fact that it's script makes it even more difficult. I might try adding a think and thin "hand-drawn" profile as the cursive element, and complement it with new typography. The profile is a great element, I just don't think it should be so tightly combined with a letterform.
