GC heating services

Brief from client
I want GC (initials to look like copper pipes interlocked), the typography and so forth is up to the designer.
I am new to using typography so i decided to place this one there to get feedback and recommendations on it. Let me know what needs changing and if any of it works, Gradients colour type etc.

Its only a starter, far from the final design. I would prefer comments and recommendations.
Personally and to be frank, I think the idea is pretty dumb. It basically design blocks the designer. No matter what, it is going to look cheesy and dated.
That said,
I would put end caps on the both ends of the letters.
I would change the color or placement of the type. At a glance, your eye reads this as "Cheating Services".
The type is pretty bland.
The colors are dull.
All in all a pretty forgettable logo.
Sorry, but this is going to need some work to become unique. I don't envy the assignment.. : ).
I would do some mocks without the ridiculous interlocking pipes idea. They may come to their senses if it looks good.
Have you got any comments or recommendations on the type of typeface i
should use? Serif, sans serif italic etc.
Ill try to create a whole new concept.
I'll think on it a bit. But for now, I would go back to the sketch pad. Keep at it and something will pop : ).

If that's what you client said, then I hate him. Now you are going to have to convince you client that those pipes idea is ridiculous, and convince him that you are the designer not him.
By the way "Heating Services" is a tagline not a business name. Ask him to give you the name of his business to include it in the logo.

Thanks for that. I agree with you aswell. It is a guy who does various heating services around the house (its his own company) hence the initials GC- heating services (His name). Im going to change the whole design as I believe it wouldn't do me any justice either.
Im designing the actual logo from scratch now but not sure of what kind of typefaces will give it an authentic or original feeling. Could you give me some options please. Thanks
I would start with some sans-serif, bold typeface.
