Brief from client
Version 2. // Brand created by a graphics and communications agency in Italy, simplicity and clarity. Element visible are the pencil, with corporate colors, blue and blue.
Right away, you can ditch the first idea, because this one is a keeper.
It works on many levels, the pen and also the highlighted "it" syllable to underline the Italian origin of the agency. That's some good thinking right here.
Now, here's my main beef: LOBSTER!!! I personally consider it to be in the same category as Impact, Mission Script and all these free cool looking fonts but which are used everywhere. Thus, it cheapens everything it's used in.
Try to find a better a font and you'll have a really cool logo.
Yes, Lobster is a popular font, but I don't think it's hit the saturation point. I say, if it works, use it.
Besides, if you're going to look for another font, pick one similar to this, the swoops at the bottoms of "it" form an important identifying part of the pencil. Other fonts might not do that nearly as well.
I love the pencil, that thin line tapering away to the left is a nice touch.

This is a fun idea, run with it.
