Brief from client
Incorporate the letters into an abstract shape.
I tried to get the letter "I" in there but it didn't match so I merged the G with the X added a stroke to represent the F. then added a dot in the middle to make it like an Eye. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Too complicated. That symbol looks forced and needlessly aggressive with all these sharp edges and pointy bits. Forget trying to scram the letters in the symbol. I'd go with a simple wordmark.
I agree with what Shawali is saying, plus I feel like you completely loose the GX, and all i see is a fish
Never ever ever use that font for the word "design." .......honey I shrunk the S lol
Thank you guys, I appreciate your comments, I redesigned the whole thing, let me know what you think
its not really sitting with me I don't know, should I take the iGFX off? any suggestions for the font
You don't need a symbol plus the iGFX - less is more. As Shawali said use a wordmark for iGFX with the tagline underneath.
You could use a site like dafont or fontsquirrel to pick a display font that you like then make a few tweaks, keep it simple.

I partially agree, however, the challenge is to create a symbol, that's meaningful, but I cant seem to be able to put those four letters in an appealing composition
It reads more like IGT, taking off the text would be more confusing. This may seem like an unusual suggestion, but I like the clean spareness of the text only. Just a thought.
Thank you, but client want a symbol derived from those letters, I hit a brick wall with this one
Please tell me its getting better lol
The whole point of a symbol is to represent something, idea, object, feeling something. You are trying to cram abstract letters into a random (fish?) shape that says nothing about the software and design industry. Without the word mark there is no connection and to me you are even losing the F and X. I think it's back to sketching on this one and maybe think about warming your client up to some ideas that are less abstract.
Your second shot was a leap forward from the first, so you should get a good solution soon. When you do post it in a new entry so we can see the progress.
Also as an after thought, with the F above the G in the symbol there would be a tendency to read it IFGX.
I see a fish- the F gets lost too easy.
Have you considered trying to sell them on the idea of a cool typographical layout of these letters as opposed to blending them all together??? Kind of like you had in the beginning where iGFX are all legible- with maybe some connecting ligatures or something to make it interesting?? Just a thought- maybe just do it lol and let them think it was their idea!
What does iGFX stand for, and why is the letter i lowercase?
