I'm still running through drafts of this logo.
The biggest critique I'm looking for is on the cross/ "I". Is it completely illegible, or do you guys think it works
Alternative version for letterheads, certain signage, etc.
I really like that alternative version compared to the other one. It's just more clever than the other logo.
Maybe aligning the left side of "I" to the center like the top sun ray would make it more symmetrical.
Just a suggestion, maybe you can replace the sun to an earth-looking symbol like those earth logo in the picture uploaded.
Ok- I like this symbol much better than before! The top of the I is heavier than the base of the I - but that's kind of minor.
I do not like your font choices though- and they don't compliment well.
The bar between them is too heavy also.
I'd rework that portion- if they are going for a super modern "we are a church but not like religious n stuff" vibe lol - then I'd give them pretty modern fonts too. That seems like they are hoping to target younger members.
Change the font
I kind of like it, has a peaceful, retro feel with the muted colors and old school font, they fit together well. There was an earlier suggestion that the top of the I is visually taller than the bottom, I agree that it is a small distraction easily fixed by bumping up the bottom for the top cross bar a bit. I think the blue bar is a bit heavy to my eye and the same with CHURCH, I might try a lighter version to give INTERNATIONAL more emphasis. Now for the bad, I really, really do not like using the symbol as part of the type. It totally changes this from fresh and retro to old and bad. Seeing as you keep asking if it works that way, it must not look right to you either. Hopefully this is more helpful than just three words.
I only keep asking because my client really wants to see that work. I'm not a gigantic fan of the concept, but others I've shown seem to like it as well, so I'm going to have to offer both options.
But yes, your comment was helpful, please critique my new upload!
