Brief from client
N/A; sample logo for portfolio.
Hey again guys, just quickly uploading this to hear some opinions on it. It's my first minimalist logo and I want to see what is and what is not up-to-par. I am trying to broaden my spectrum of what logos I create.
As a minimalist logo, what are your thoughts on it?
Is it too bland? Too unoriginal even for a small company? Is this a step in the right or wrong direction? What could I do to change this? Does it make you want to vomit from OCD?
Thanks and I value your critique!

It doesn't make me want to vomit! lol But it's not working for me. If this is all the same font, then you have an enlarged J (that's dangling out there all by itself), a stretched EAN, a Z that's all up in the E's business which draws attention to that (and I don't think that is a majorly significant part of your logo), and an I that's also enlarged and too far from the rest of the word NDUSTRIES.
Sorry but these are all fatal typography mistakes!!! And your logo is all type! This will need a major overhaul! =) Good luck!
To clarify...
1) never stretch or skew your type!
2) try not to simply enlarge a letter because the stroke weight will no longer match the other letters in the word.
3) Go over the kerning and tracking with a fine tooth comb, especially with a type only logo!
Just what I needed. Much appreciated, Joy! Cheers.
In addition, making an interesting combo with the 'E' and the 'Z' makes it look like those are the most important letters. As if you would monogram them like that. But they are not the most important letters, so it just confuses things.
