Letter H House Logo

Brief from client

I’m trying to sell logos on logoground but they keep getting declined and they never give me a good reason so I might sell them on here

A modern design of a simplified house shaped like the letter H in the center. This logo can be used for real estate and home design businesses.

I'm going to guess you are new to this, so I will try to go easy.
This has little to no thought, or creativity, to it. I assume no sketches or market research was done before hand? It's not modern, terribly dated in fact. For such a simple image- the proportions are odd and it's bland.

Hopefully someone will get on here and give you their inspirational advice on graphic design, I am not going to, I will just say that if you thought you would sell logos on the internet because it would be "easy money' you were sorely mistaken. That is not how this SKILLED INDUSTRY works.

Well I’m going to keep trying no matter how harsh the criticism

That's the spirit! We all have been there. I remember my first logos way back in 2000, it's frightening to think I thought they were pretty cool ;)

Keep posting some more logos, we'll be more than happy to help.

Totally keep trying- but it will require a lot of work! Shawali's post below is exactly what I was hoping he would post for you. (he just says it so darn good! lol) Take his advice- every drop of it- and check those sites out! Read articles on typography and working graphic designers when you can. There's a bunch on Pinterest.

Well, I'll give you one good reason why your logo keeps getting rejected on Logopond: it's just not good. Actually it's pretty bad.

The main reason is that it's way too literal. I don't see a H here. I just see a simplistically designed house. There's absolutely no interpretation, no creative twist. It's rushed, poorly though through and badly executed.

Logopond is known for proposing highly qualitative logos. Yours is nowhere near where it should be to be accepted in any respectable logo-for-sale platforms. You got to put in a whole lot of work, improve your skills considerably and learn about actual logo design if you hope to one day sell your logos or better yet, get actual clients.

But fret not! For you have came to the right place. Here are a few pointers to apply an actual creative process to your work:

1- Research. Before anything else, do a bit of research on actual real estate logos. Get the lay of the land. See what works, what doesn't. Identify trends, in terms of typography, colors, shapes, composition, etc. Does something that worked great a couple of years ago still does today? Does something that works today will still do in X amount of years?

2- Inspiration. The fuel of your creative engine. Peruse sites like www.logopond.com (obviously) but also www.fromupnorth.com www.dribbble.com and the hundreds of similar websites out there. Get yourself a Pinterest account if you haven't already. The sight of hundred really well crafted logos should get your creative juice flowing.

3- Sketching. I cannot stress enough how important this part is. When I was a student, I thought it was a waste of time and that you could design a logo directly on the computer. How foolish I was. Sketching is everything! This is how you organically connect your brain to the tip of your pencil and come up with really cool ideas, providing that you really take the time. Sketch hours upon hours if you need to. Ideas will almost magically pop up in your mind. Some will be good, some not, but explore them all and you will eventually stumble on something cool.

Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day and it will takes a lot of trials and errors before coming up with something remotely acceptable. But with the right amount of dedication and passion, you'll get there eventually.

Keep it up.
