Brief from client
Logo using my Initials "CAV". Two versions: one with color, one just black using negative space for "A". Not sure about the "Design" text. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if you're a designer by trade or not, but I don't think anything about this works. It's just so.... plain/simple/unattractive. Drink a beer or two (I totally stole this idea from another critique but it makes such good sense!), sit down with a pen and paper, and start writing or sketching out ideas that represent who you are as a designer (are you a graphic designer?) and start over. (I also think you should steer clear of the fonts you've used here as well- they don't mesh and the main font isn't very pretty.)
As it is now, this says nothing to me except that maybe you don't have very much experience yet.
