My personal logo

Brief from client

this my personal brand for my logo design business and I might branch out in title design when I improve my skills.

I'm going for a clean look leaving it black and grey and the alternative off white and grey to work on dark backgrounds.

I think this is the best lockup between the grid and type. I tried putting the grid above the type but it didn't work.

the grid I made it look like an actual pixel square but it didn't look right, so I made it in square grids. the grids is supposed to mean stability and the reason it has a missing block in the middle, to show the 'O' and the reason it is all black with two grey blocks the black shows a 'P' sort of.

I like the contrast of the pixel type and the oracle type. I think the kerning is fine the 'L' looks slightly kerned out but only at certain times not sure about that, technically it's fine. the O in oracle might look like a 'D' when the size is reduced but if I reduce the size to the dimension it's supposed to look like then save it then it looks like an 'O'

That's about it, I don't want to add too much to it, I want it simple and clean but not too boring, I want it to stand out on it's own, Hopefully it does.

A couple of things struck me as off balance. You have a very rectangular logo with a large hole in the upper right corner from the L, yet oracle is spaced out to the end of the L. That leaves the point of the A pointing up to the ^ created by the X, yet that is off center. Not certain if it needs fixing or how you would fix it. I don't know if my version works any better or not, just a suggestion. You would have to work with the spacing a bit. I do like the start of this and I may be totally off base with the balance thing.

This is a nice second step and certainly balances out. I would even try making the three gray dots lighter shades of gray.

Also, I feel the weight of the ORACLE font is not heavy enough to balance with the boldness of PIXEL. But this could be something. I would work on this route.

Lastly, the P / O idea in the squares is completely lost and too forced - abandon that one and don't let it bog you down.

I'm not feeling this logo at all. For a personal logo, it looks way too corporate-y.

When it comes to represent you as an individual designer, stay away from what makes you look like a big company, with all that soullessness that it implies. You are one unique human being, let your logo show that. Go full organic ;) A monogram is always a good idea in that case. Possibly hand made.

But not this very cold and stale (and dated) type of thing. To be honest, this logo makes me think of an old compter company from the 90's.

Keep it up!

That was the look I was going with, appearing bigger than what I am, knowing eventually I would become like that.I was strongly referencing the prologue logo.

As a logo creator, your logo should need not to be explained. I was not able to figure out the (O) nor the (P). I agree with Cooperads suggestion.

I totally agree with our friend Mahayni. Give us a little background about your logo, but don't write a whole novel about it. If it really works, it should be self explanatory.
