Up until this point the icon portion of the logo was clearly a letter from the word-mark. This is what I think is the letter "N" from Notion, however it isn't as immediately apparent as it has been in past versions.

I guess I'm not completely understanding the comment. The letter "n" has never fully matched between the icon and word-mark. Are you saying you think they should fully match? Or is it a matter of the two styles not working together for you? In other words, do you feel that the typeface should be changed to something more suggestive of the icon stylistically?

As with the blue one, I think the background is too dark....but it is a good logo.
