Personal Brand Logo

Brief from client

This was a recent re-vamp of my first logo I did years ago.

I've already used the logo in a number of different ways, utilizing the red shapes and extending them to spread across larger formats, such as for business cards and banners. Thank goodness I was born with the fortunate luck of having an initials of AVN. Pray tell what you think.

I like this. I like the fact that it is an ambigram. With your name there, I had no trouble seeing the A the V or the N. Your name might be a bit tight, but I like this

I just think this symbol is HUGE compared to the rest of the logo.

Size down this logo and it will probably tie everything together more clearly.

Sorry, but this logo isn't working at all for me.

Overall, it's really underwhelming and dated. It doesn't really show creativity and imagination that you would expect from a freelance graphic designer.

You made this like it was for any company. But you are not, you are a human being with thoughts, sensibility and a good eye for design. None of the things I see in this.

It feels that (and I'm pretty much sure you did) you spent 20 minutes top coming with it, without any proper research (what are the existing trends for designer logos), inspiration (Pinterest is your friend) and more importantly, sketching.

This is why I find this logo particularly drab and without much imagination. It's not a terrible logo (I've seen worse from so-called pros) but it is definitely not selling you as an expert in your field.

Think more in terms of a graphic signature than the usual symbol + wordmark + subtext equation. Leave that to the faceless and cold-hearted corporate entities. You are a human being, with blood pumping in your veins. Let your logo show that.

Keep it up!

Thank you for the feedback. I've already felt similarly in that this feels like a logo for a company but doesn't truly represent me and my capabilities.

I'm not freelancing or anything, just a student. Creating a personal brand for myself was one of my assignments for a showcase event. I returned to the idea of re-designing it and posting it here to test the waters.

Seems I got some work to do. Again, thank you for the feedback.
