mainly wanting some constructive criticism on whether this typeface goes well with this symbol

The font works pretty well with the symbol, in my opinion.

Now, if I may, I noticed that since you've been here, you only posted comments on your own posts and never took the time to give feedback to your fellow designers. You seem to be a more than capable designer yourself, I'm sure they could use some of your expertise =)

I find myself in the opposite end of the spectrum. I've only posted one logo so far. I rarely get commissions!

You don't have to wait for commissions. Just make up one. If you need a brief or guidelines or whatever, try your hand at a logo for a new sport teams, like the "Bumfuckville Triceratops" =)

Yea i think your font works well with the symbol.

I do like the symbol very much but I'm a bit concerned as to how quickly it might become a bit dated.. there is a thought for consideration for you there :)

i agree with you, its just been very difficult to create a logo with my initials that has not been done in some way before, I'm trying to be unique and my initials just don't go well together for something original.

Not really especially since I am just starting out i just want to keep it simple and a way to identify me. not some other alias

This is a bit rich coming from me as my own logo is my initials but why don't you try coming up with a different way to identify yourself rather than your initials, it seems these days that every one goes down the initials route...

...or just slap your name in a big red circle. (not all of us have a the perfect symbol pun in our name like M@)

Really don't lose your mind over forcing something to work, if name recognition is what you want stick it up there front and center, and don't worry about the initials.

I do like this version though.
