Real Estate Logo Design

Brief from client
The logo is for a client who is a strong believer in typography based logos.
The logo is a combination of text and image, to give it a necessary touch and fill, the clients colors are blue and black.
The idea is a yes/no for me, using the text in contrasting boxes can look good but it can also look like you are just using it as a go to crutch as it does here. If you want to stick with it find a much better balance. A start would be to size the boxes so the words are evenly spaced within visually. The symbol seems stuck in as an aferthought, it doesn't read well at a glance. (are the skyscrapers appropriate to the type of real estate being marketed?). I do like copperplate but it is a dated font, very 80s-90s, this has a danger of the logo look dated, not fresh and new. I like the blue you have,, a toned down blue works much better than a bright royal, good choice. Decent start just need to refine all the details..
Your client is a strong believer in typography made logos, but in your case I see an attempt with typography and no logo, as of yet - sorry. I'm not convinced at all at a vertical lines/stripes at the end of the " court ". They kind of remind me a Northern lights that are so common in places close to North Pole. I'm not going to debate here on how dated or outdated your choice of font without seeing a good quality symbol first. Many of us can borrow fonts, outbox then and divide then into B/W W/B - doesn't take much of a brain to do that.I'd like to see a good quality logo/symbol here.Good luck!
