These elements feel a bit forced together. I agree with mahayni that everything is too close. I like the stars but think that they should look asymmetrical and you should maybe just have three to one side.
You also need to lose the stroke/outline from the font as it adds nothing.
The location pin seems to be the most forced element. Do you really need this to convey the meaning?
The colours in the mockups are not attractive in my opinion.
I think that you need to address what both mahayni and myself have identified here and post again in 1 colour black only and then slowly work towards colour, as you're running before you can walk with this one... Keep at it :)
I like the basic idea, though I see a lot of rocket logos these days, but the end result just doesn't work, for all the reasons Jon pointed out. Too many elements, the stroke on the fonts, the tricked out U, the gradients, etc...
Scrap this, get some inspiration and start sketching on paper a few hundred ideas.

Everything is too close to each other. And the stars does not feel like it fit there.
Could you please explain what is this logo for? I can see a rocket, and I can see you have used the location pin.

Get rid of the stars as per the other comments and try and make all the edges either rounded or sharp. Would use solid colours instead of a gradient.
