Running ijburg

Brief from client

Made this logo for a friend of mine. It's a "running" company which sells running equipment's. Ijburg is a part of Amsterdam so that's why I used the 3 crosses. The flag of Amsterdam has 3 crosses..

Watch out for a horizontal bar at a bottom of " R ", as its start looking " LR ". Also, " IJ" looks " h " to me for some reason and a " J " connection to " I " resembles a quotation symbol, as well. Perhaps, separating " RUNNING " from " IJBURG " and then " I " from " J " would read more clearly and eliminate confusion as far as typography goes. I would rethink a placement of " xxx " to make it more unique. Like to see real colors of a city of Amsterdam versus burgundy/gray in here.

I would copy those X's precisely, so that it would be a clear connection with the flag.IJburg - i think there should be a better solution for those letters. Right now it's hard to tell if it is 'hburg' or 'ŋburg' with nasal 'ŋ'. The design can be complex, intricate, but not so much difficult to grasp. That's what I would do: 1) check the font (is it the best for this work?) 2) check the kerning (is the space between letters optimal) 3) check for the contrast between the text and crosses, is it good enough 4) before all things I would check some other 'running' companies to see how they draw their logos -- not to take it verbatim, but to get some insights. Hope this helps.

It's just okay. It doesn't really have anything special about it that sets it apart. Also the "ij" in the second word reads as "h" I would keep with the placement of the words but I would redo the colors and font for sure. All in all its a solid start, keep going and you will have something great!
