Brief from client
Needs to look simple, clean, professional.
Needs to work on websites, in visual media (lower thirds and banners), and in print (letterheads).
Their eye can be reworked or continued to be used.
SEM is redoing their logo and asked me to take a crack at it. I have 5 versions/variations for consideration.
This is the most "simple" version of a concept. The only problem I see with this one is that the "eye" becomes unreadable in the really small formats.

I would say this is something simple unimaginative I do not see anything creative.

I do not understand the figure within the E looks like a tongue or something.

The position of the eye is totally random. I bet you didn't spend more that 2 minutes coming up with this =)
I like the simplicity, but the eye is microscopic and hidden. Why don't you try to convert the "eye" of the "e" into an eye?
i see font issues, the "eye" (because to me that's not one was randomly placed, i don't think you put too much work in this
