SEO BLOGIN

Brief from client

This is a personal logo for my blog. I write about SEO (Search Engine Optimitzation) and digital marketing in general.

I want to achieve a clean and modern design. I want it perfect readable in small versions. I look forward to hear your insights.

Thanks.

I Initially I can't see anything glaringly wrong about the logo, although it is a bit bland. I don't know what the reasoning for blending the O and B is; the shape it creates doesn't necessarily add to the design overall. That decision feels more like an afterthought. The kerning is a little too tight between the L and the O. The type will definitely be legible when you scale it to small sizes, although the I and N might start to blend eventually.

Overall I'd say continue to iterate more versions. I'd also suggest creating versions with drastically different compositions rather than the text simply next to each other.

I think the shape is supposed to represent a "location" icon- search, find, locate- if so, that shape makes sense to me. My thoughts are that its a bit bland because each word is the same font.
Have you considered making "blogin" in a different, but complimentary, font?
I do prefer where this version is going over the 2nd version.

I actually thought this said sea blogging. So, there is that. The kerning feels too close together on most letters, maybe all of them. which of course, will also affect readability at small size.
