SMC Designs

Brief from client

I am a freelance graphic designer & want to re-brand myself (original logo that I used for 3 years is very girly). I liked the idea of CMYK, but know that it's really overused. Because 2 of my initials are C & M I thought I may be able to get away with it. What do you think?

If I go with this design, I'm sticking with the CMYK colors. I know it's been done... a lot. I'm still sticking to the fact that I have a good reason (my initials) & I like that they're overlapped which includes other colors.

It is a seen logo, a reused teqnique for many meny people that have create a logo for a graphic design company and for telling the truth i will try doing something diferent :). But if you wont to stay at this one i will put the "designs" in the midle of the wite space of the "C". Smaller and see wats come out. It may works. Cheers

For spinnacer & waffles... for the sake of trying everything, I think this logo is on life support. S for silver... if my name was Yolanda I would do it & not care what anyone thought! Alas, that is not the case.

Not sure for the gradient S make it solid gray. It will still get the silver idea. But better with grey and definitely designs is more integrated with the logo. Keep it up

I am sure you would have been a great Yolanda!

I do like the silver, as it is the only 's' colour I could think up besides salmon, scarlet, and saquamarine. But I have to agree the gradient is distracting and would look better solid.

If you are trying to get away from your logo being girly, I am not sure if using pink is the way to go.

It is still hard to get behind a CMYK logo... If maybe you broke the convention and used something besides yellow. A colour that started with S to follow the convention you have set up?

I do like how the letters overlap.

I thought the same thing!! It would have to be pink for the 'M' if I didn't use the colors it would be the most boring logo! I suppose as it is, it's expected & un-original. I'm thinking it may not be the way to go.
