SOMMAT Development

Brief from client

This logo is for a software development company. They want to incorporate a turtle, so I created the symbol using common scripting characters [] (). "Sommat" is actually slang for "Something Like That." The company is being started by a 27 year old who is pretty laid back.

We're having a bit of trouble deciding on the fonts for the title and the subtext that jive well together.

Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks guys :)

This is actually a really AWESOME idea! creating it using scripting symbols is so cool! Never wouldve thought of that! And I like the two fonts but at the same time I don't...Trying to think of what may look better..The Somma Font is fine but it's also some what bland. Maybe if something was done to that...but at the same time it's okay how it is...I just feel like your Subtext needs to be something more basic..and maybe try the logo along side your text rather than above it..just as another suggestion to try..other than that I mean it really does look good! Maybe just some little tweaks here and there type wise.

It's a clever combination, for sure.

The only thing I would change is the inside of the turtle. It appears to be separate from the brackets a bit. There's a noticeable contrast between heavy and light lines. Close the gap a bit between these two treatments, and I think it would appear much more unified.
