Brief from client
Logo design for a print shop of which prints canvas prints, frames, gifts posters/stationery and personalised garments. I was told it couldn't be too single product specific.
I agree with Killswitch on this one. Seperate your characters by at least double of what you now have. I was reading Spiritint/Sprintn/you name it before realizing what the logo was trying to communicate.
Colors are fine, nothing fancy to say here.
I do not associate writing with printing however, maybee you can work a bit more on your idea as well?
I am going to disagree a bit here. I don't like the colours. The gray is just fine, but that blue is pretty close to being 100% C. I don't think anything graphics related should have a colour that close to a CMY in it. - Even if it is just one of them.

I really think you ought to give your text more separation. You're sacrificing readability for style here.
The idea seems a bit weak as well. It doesn't demonstrate a whole ton of planning or designing. Just a typical pencil+paper integration.
Trust me, print shop logos are hard. At least you avoided the CMYK gimmick. :)
Give it another shot. I'd like to see what other ideas you had for this.

Would love to see how this turns out!

Hard to read. Common' let them breath. Idea is fine, I guess. Need to work more on this. Good luck!
I agree with above, and i don't think people will associate a pencil with a print shop.
