Initial feeling and/ or thought on this logo?
Back to the version with open top but with less scattered triangles. Removed dot in bottom triangle.
Lo and behold the "studio" text is now also centered!
Now it's just a matter of tweaking. I think it's leaning a bit too much on the left. I would try to even the space between the triangles to see how it looks like.
Don't trust the alignment tool in Illustrator. Make sure that the subtext spreads out evenly from the left edge of the S to the tip of the Y right arm.
Don't take any flak from that Y!
Cheat. Forget all about the 'S' and the 'Y'. Centre this with the 'T' and the 'A' and say "Take that Y!" as you laugh maniacally.
Also, I like this much better. I admit, the bolt is better than the 's' alone was.
Lol, I've been thinking about that solution myself. But since I really wanted that subtext to be or at least "appear" as it was the full width of the main text I've been banging my head against the wall.
Perhaps your right, I could simply move on and ignore it's presence. :)
I agree that this is getting better, but it does lean left. As for the subtext, the Y space doesn't bother me (you have been looking at this for a while now so it probably stands out to you!) But I think if you make it slightly smaller than Stormy Day, that could fix that issue when it is centered.

That's what I'm talking about!

Also, you to center that subtext.
Good job!
Thanks! Well regarding that freakin subtext, it is centered... But the Y on the top right is making it look like its aligned all wrong.

Initially this was my approach but it looks weird with the space that appears around and below the Y and the subtext.

i think it looks sharp! the kerning on the subtext is a little extreme to me
