Guys, im only uploading this logo to let you know that this is the logo the client decided on going for... He loved both and wasnt sure which one to chose.. i tried to persuade him to go for the other one but i think his wife and friends preferred this one which swayed him.. a little disappointing but I still quite like this one anyway

I probably wouldn't have even presented the one that looks like the channel logo. Or at least explain to them the danger of using that logo.
The yellow might be a bit too bright on the background, so watch for that. The rest look nice, however.
theres no danger in using the logo he went for as its for a small company here in jersey, UK
I do agree about the yellow, so i tested it by printed it out and it looks fine
Such a disappointment, indeed. For me, there is no debate over which version is better. Is it really too late? Tell your client the whole of the Interweb told you that the version he picked doesn't hold much water compared the almighty and wordly beloved Shovel logo!!
Did you tell him that people will think he works for a TV channel now? We have his email and phone number, we could contact him directly =)
I must say, I'm sometimes speechless in front of some client's blindness.
Anyway, this is an outstanding job M@.

I did tell him about me putting it on here and all the responses it got but it still wasnt enough to sway him! Oh bummer i forgot that i had his details on those uploads!
I did mention the TV channel thing but no one over here has heard of that TV channel so it wasnt an issue.

I sent it via the contact thingy on BotW profile page. So You must have received on the address you use to log in. It sometimes difficult to differentiate a mail from someone just asking you to comment on his logo than someone personally contacting you.

This looks like a pretty dated logo. And definitely reminds me of TV.
Shame customers can be so unpersuasive sometimes. I was also in favor of the shovel logo.
It is not the fault of the customer. From what I understand, he was shown multiple variants of a logo, and chose one. The customer did not create this logo. I trully understand him. As a antrepreneur, he would't want a childish logo (as the shovel one) for a serious business, so he chose the more "serious" one, meaning this, the TV one. I am sure your client is not very pleased about this, or has no idea about how important is the identity of his business. :D

the client is more than happy thanks! so i dont really know what your talking about.
Ill add something else... The clients we get have a very tight budget.. Most of the time i only get 3 hours to create 3 logos for them to look at. My boss liked this version best and i liked the other version best and along with my junior we gave the client 4 options, of which he loved this one and the shovel one, but eventually went for this one.
So no i cant do more!!

A tight budget doesn't mean low quality logo's tho.
This is what I was thinking too, but I didn't want to look like a hater. :))
A good craftmen (of everyhing) does not mock his work just because it is low paid.
