Brief from client
Design a logo for a registered company in the petroleum mining business.
I went for a simple type logo with the G realised by means of negative space to denote dikes/shafts dug during the process of mining.

Mmmh... I'm not a fan of this one. The negative spaced thing works but overall, be it the colors or the fonts, this logo feels awfully dated.
The inclination of the symbol doesn't match the word mark's inclination, which triggers my OCDs =)
not a fan of the colors, and font as well, i just can't stand negative space hahah
overall you should rework on it.
I think we've all been over-exposed to negative space designs ever since you-know-who showed up.
