The text placement feels a bit boring. I'd also change "Dayton" to red; black text on a red symbol doesn't feel very fresh.

It would also be nice to have some background on this. I'm not sure what to expect when looking at this logo. Is it some kind of city festival?

Honestly this red isn't set in stone yet, I have several other colors so I just went with the red FFOI.

This is a meetup group for UX Designers in Dayton, OH. Yeah, you could say it's a festival to some extent :)

Let me know your opinion on the other version.
