Brief from client 

To crete a new logotype where there is a subtle but strong graphic within the type, as in the FedEx example.

Application of logotype to stationery.

The hidden lightening bolt is a nod to the "God" Vulcan (Vulcan is usually depicted with a thunderbolt), rather than trying to shoe-horn in that Vulcan was actually the God of fire and smithery and trying to use all that symbolism in one logo!
