Wolfsen Graphic Design

Brief from client

I would like to start my own designcompany with the name Wolfsen (my surname) so I was thinking of using a wolf as my brandmark.
Because a wolf is pretty much violence I tried to make it not violent at all.

Version 5!! Last version I had just a few comments.. It was hard to make it better but I might found the solution! Please give me good comments.. I would be really glad!! :)

I would probably suggest for the cyan shape to flow in front of the chest, not behind it. Doesn't make much sense that way, in my opinion.

Don't forget to give your type plenty of breathing room. I've noticed in all of these versions your wolf is extremely close to your W.

For the most part, it's a finished product. Great improvements.

I hate to be the party pooper here, but this is my first time looking at this logo and I must say that - if you plan on sticking to the current concept - I much prefer the earlier versions. In Versions 4 and 5, the lower jaw and neck area seem ill-proportioned. Perhaps you're trying to make it less generic, but the lower jaw line - and how you elongate it doesn't work well.

My advice: if you're going to try to make the design less generic and predictable, you should start from scratch and create a unique design that's more abstract. As it stands now, you're taking a classic, posterized image and changing it just enough to make it look unbalanced and ill-proportioned. It's a bit 1/2 pregnant...like it's not sure what style it wants to commit to.

I'm going to agree with the 'cons' from the comments above. I think your text needs a bit more breathing room & your wolf has gone a bit off the rails.

I would go back to wolf version 1, tweak it just a bit, & drop in your more massaged font treatment. This new version looks over designed, the two colors no longer seem quite so cohesive & the newly added interplay between the 2 halves of the wolf/two colors feels forced & awkward.

Scrap the newest version & put some of the best tweaks into your first go at it & I think you'd be better off.

Try to to refine sign. Noticeable obvious inaccuracy the anatomy of the wolf. And check the spacing between lines. And to be completely honest, I believe that the howling wolf is not the best sign for graphic design. Try another option. Good luck.

I think the light blue color in the symbol now is a bit weird, the way your eye would flow with it. And again the typography is too plain for a graphic designer. And the title is too big beneath your name.
