Wolfsen Graphic Design

Brief from client

I would like to start my own designcompany with the name Wolfsen (my surname) so I was thinking of using a wolf as my brandmark.
Because a wolf is pretty much violence I tried to make it not violent at all.

Your cyan line looks like it's abruptly cutting into the throat. See Waffles' example closer.

I came up with this version being inspired by your concept. I just couldn't resist a chance to challenge myself a bit. Forgive me for experimenting with your original concept. Wonder if you might take some things to consideration. I just want to help you out in your quest for a symbol. Once again, my sincere apology. Now - this is an awesome drawn wolf logo unlike your lame attempt to steal someone else idea that you called an inspiration, shame on you and DON'T BOTHER TALK TO ME AGAIN!

You're joking, right?

You didn't make that. At least hide the artist's logo if you want to pass if off as yours.

Of course I didn't make that and I never said that it is mine in a first place for your information. You missed the whole point - I post that to show how the awesome wolf logo can be done and should be done when you put some heart and soul into it. Enough said to you for what I care.

"I came up with this version being inspired by your concept." This is a pretty misleading statement if you claim you didn't do it.

Charlie, it is misleading - because I removed my original file with a rework that I have done and replaced with this one ( as you did , also, as an example that he said he doesn't like it and you replied with that awesome statement about busting his balls ) just to show some outstanding work made by other talented artists. No hard feelings - peace.

I really am curious what you are all about. In your posts you have mentioned coming from a prestigious design school in Russia and you have claimed to be self taught. You mentioned being a professional soccer player (goalie) for 20 years and a seasonal bus driver. You claim to have watched every World Cup since 1966, which would put you in your early 50's, yet you interact with every one like a petulant teenager? You do have the occasional flash of inspiration but the majority of your advise is out of touch with current or even classic design trends. I'm not one to discourage ambition, but you really need to learn to sit back, observe and not jump in as much. You know, learn before you try to teach and have some proven experience to back up your criticism. I'd hate for this site to become like so many other forums, where it's a waste of time trying to find any useful information.

Nothing useful coming from you - you learn how to sit back, observe and not jump in as much, and stop spying on me. Before you worry about me - worry about yourself first and take a good, long look in a mirror. With your comment here - you are on infant/toddler level for what I care.

So no real answers to my questions then?
I have managed to make a good life for myself employed as a creative for over 30 years by watching and learning and as a senior designer for a Fortune 100 company, I still do. Merely remembering your absurd comments is not spying and I have no worries for you. Most are here to better their craft, you are just here to hear the sound of your own voice. This should be no place for that and no place for those who refuse to listen, it devalues the constructive purpose of this forum.

And I second both of you as my ENEMIES # 1 on this blog- welcome to my shit list. Just remember this - when you try to dump your life's misery on someone else - it will come back and hit you so hard as a boomerang does!!!

I refined it a bit for you. Sometimes it's just easier than describing it! :)

Man, this thing has gone through a ton of changes!

Ok, I'm kinda late on this one, but I must say that this logo isn't working at all for me.

With a last name as awesome as Wolfsen, you deserve a way better logo than that. Sorry, I should have said that since day 1, but this logo looks really plane, clumsy and generally boring.

The colors make me thing of the kind you would find on a bottle of milk for babies in a pharmacy. There's nothing with these shades that says "wolf", "badass", "wild" and certainly not "good designer".

I would avoid having the head of the wolf cut out the way it is, that very sharp pointy thing. Under the W. I don't know if I'm being clear, but your symbol should be able to behave on its own like the example bellow. See what I mean?

Find another set of fonts. Like the colors, the one you pick is terribly blend and boring. Again, your name is fuckin' WOLFSEN! =) Find a friggin' bad ass font, yet a professional looking one.

To conclude, this logo looks more pharmaceutical than anything else. You need to really go for it. It's like you're driving a muscle car but you're stuck in first gear.

In the spirit of the great philosopher Ron Swanson, don't half-ass this logo. Whole-ass the shit out of it =)

Good luck!

I like the previous symbol much better, this one is awkward and forced and doesn't flow like the other does.Again the typography is just okay, not too enthralling. Keep working on it! It's almost there! :)

The wolf can be... huskier!

:D

Sorry, couldn't resist. It looks a bit thin maybe?

Félix, I'm starting to lose my patience with you and your childish and overly weird attitude. You keep making a fool of yourself with every time you answer someone calling your out on your bullshit.

You make it very hard for anyone to be nice and willing to help you.

You've been banned before, "Felix." I sense history repeating itself.

Take accounability for your actions, for once. It's one thing to tweak a logo instead of trying to describe how YOU would change something, but it's another thing entirely to go onto each thread, say "I hope you don't mind, but I made my own version," hijacking someones thread/logo without permission. We've told you this isn't okay, many times.

I'm also calling your credibilty as a designer into question. Why? Because you've spammed the front page with several "just for fun" or "practice" logos that you deem necessary for us to critique. You've probably posted more than anyone else here, I'd wager. Are any of these projects actually coming to fruition? If so, how are those MS Paint raster images working out for the client? I'd feel ripped off, quite frankly. I know for a fact you can't simply take a JPEG and resize it indefinitely, so what business do you have taking commissions with amateur programs? I only mention this because it's very hard to take you seriously when you spam us with half-assed MS Paint work without much thought put into any particular logo at all, then turn around and act all high and mighty, shaming anyone who disagrees with you. Well, except the one person who has tried supporting and helping you. You haven't really disagreed with him at all. Instead, you've brown-nosed this member quite a bit, to a creepy level.

And you've learned pretty much nothing since being reincarnated from your previous user name.
