“That Guy” is a non-traditional campaign that was conceived for Tulane University in order to raise awareness of school pride and student attendance at athletic events. The campaign began at Tulane with the search to find someone to represent “That Guy”. Two individuals with opposite personalities were selected to serve as the face of “That Guy” and represent the student body. Together they are known as “Those Guys.” Both students attend athletic events, run social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, blog through the “That Guy Tulane” microsite and provide video, which is later edited to be shared within the social sphere. This campaign has enabled students to markedly become more outwardly prideful of their University and encourage athletic support through word of mouth and social media channels.
