There are few families in the United States, and in the old countries, whose history can be traced as far back as the McCorkles. We find branches of this old family in Canada and all over the United States, especially in the eastern and middle states, and in Virginia. We find other branches in England, Germany and Denmark. All of these families use a coat of arms that shows, although differing slightly, some main features:
Crest: A stag standing at gaze, attired gules (i.e. red horns);
Arms: Demi-stag, gules, naissant out of a fesse tortille (i.e. springing out of a twisted band);
Motto: Vivat Rex (Long Live the King!)
