Nishiki
The Nishiki brand was born in 1966. Its roots are - as the name implies - in Japan.
Kawamura Cycle had been making basic bikes for Japanese people in Kobe for decades when it started making better bikes for hobby use.
In order to distinguish the higher-quality models sufficiently from ordinary Kawamura bicycles,
they were given their own name, Nishiki, which was born in a competition organized for the company's employees.
