I guess if I had to pick I would say the top one. It just seems very bland &
unimaginative. I think you could do more with the bottom one though. Try to do something with the mouse pointer, & dont split the colors on it. I would get creative on the "E" as well
The typography in the original logo is a bit better then what you used in yours, the main problem of the original logo is that cheesy and ugly ball and swoosh in the dying web 2.0 style.
Lowercase Microsoft Explorer style 'e' has been overdone, try exploring different ideas.
I would keep the original typography and just change the graphic mark.
Try turning that RED thing into an interesting graphic mark (maybe upright (showing progress) and straighten it out...) Get rid of the ball completely. Keep the same blue for the letters. Then you are updating the logo, the change won't be extreme.

None of the 3 tops the current logo (even when the current logo has that unpleasant red thingy).
