Miranor
Brief from client
This is a software company which creates tools for app developers (more info is available on the initial stub site at www.miranor.com). However, the logo should be generic enough to allow different products under the same brand.
The name "Miranor" means "magic light", and the logo should reflect this. It could be some inherently luminous object (star, comet, meteor), which also creates a subtle feeling of wonder, futurism, hi-tech (but not too much). Preferred colors are blue and green.
The star was selected as the most elegant and simple solution, which best conveys the feeling of wonder. The orbit-like band symbolizes space travel to convey both futurism and hi-tech. The client vetoed 5-point star as creating unwanted associations with the former Soviet flag. 4-point star was acceptable, even though the client complained that it looks like a ninja shuriken, which cannot be reasonably connected to the company's name. The client also suggested to use brighter colors.

I really like it. Symbolism is perfect for the brand. Colors are good, font works well.
I think its perfect. If you asked me if there was anything to improve it I'd say to play with the subtext a little bit. The plain black thin subtext reminds me of a medicine bottle/advertisement.
