All Possible States Emblem

Brief from client
I started sketching this out as an emblem for my band All Possible States. The sound isn't "proggy" but it's on the more progressive side of metal. This is pretty much the first stages after sketching for a while. I plan on playing with this in between jobs at work.

I think I want to figure out something with the S's but I haven't hit something I like yet.
I read APS SDV. Is it supposed to be an ambigram?
Is there somewhere I can hear some your stuff? =)
The reflection confuses me a little bit, I tried to read it first, only after I read the description I knew it is a reflection.
And yes can we hear some of your stuff?
We have some stuff up at http://www.youtube.com/allpossiblestates. "Hai" is actually studio recorded, though done entirely in two hours. It's a new band so we don't have much polished stuff posted yet. Also, http://www.facebook.com/allpossiblestates
I am going for a bit of an ambigram type of design for an emblem so it's not necessarily supposed to be spelled out but I'm trying to make it out of the initials. I've never really played with these before so this is also kind of for fun, but with a purpose as well.
Dude that is some sick music. You guys got skills. I guess you're a fan of bands like Periphery or Dream Theater (which I'm going to see live in Paris in January) Cool to see you "in the flesh", BTW =)
About the logo, the SDV thing really bugs me. Thing is, duplicating/reflecting the letter doesn't make it an ambigram. It's just that each single character should be readable upside and down. Here's a little something I've done super quick to give you and idea.
Anyway, keep it up!
Thanks man. Definitely into Periphery. Actually, one of my favorite bands is Gojira. I suppose/hope you're familiar.
Here is some of what I was working on. One of the ideas I like is the the one that takes it into a complete circle. The hard part is working out the S going across. I'm totally ok with the characters disappearing into the emblem so they're not so obvious. I definitely have some more playing to go as I just started with this late yesterday.
Something like this where the letters start to just be shapes in a design. I like the symmetry but I need to keep playing with the execution. I'm thinking of something that would be a cool back print on shirts and hoodies or embroidered on hats.
This is pretty rad. The ambigram totally works. It would be really cool with a vintage treatment, though it's not really in line with that type of super mordern music.
I know Gojira, one of the few French bands that made it internationnally. Can't say I'm a fan, though. I've never been really into death metal vocals. I'm more a fan of melodic metal, though I'm not really into metal anymore. I'm more about folk now, though I still indulge into some DT or Slash.
I like a whole swath of stuff from really heavy to melodic to light. I'll listen to Meshuggah one minute, Mastodon another, and wind it down with stuff like Noah Gundersen or Philip Roebuck. I like to keep up the variety.
