Brief from client
we're a financial website doing some novel charting. this black logo is the current one (http://www.capitalmarketlabs.com/images/CML_VIZ_logo_website2.png), the uploaded blue logo is the proposed alternate. general feedback welcome, and please let us know if you think there is a substantial improvement in the new, blue logo design. Thanks!

I think this still looks very dated and there isn't a strong idea in place here. I'd try more designs and sketches and work something else out. Branch out and get some inspiration from sites like www.logopond.com .

I think they both look rushed and not very creative... I think if you are going to go with the bar graph style then try not to make it look so MS Paint-esque.
Maybe try an find a font that is a little more interesting.
Regardless, you are bounds past the ol ugly thing that is in the link.
