This is VERY close to being done. It just needs a few tweaks.
Intead of "Design," I would put your name underneath the S (not overlapping, as it is now). I would also shrink the symbol a bit. Maybe it's because the logo is large to begin with, but it looks really big right now.
Very nice work overall. The S is a strong unique identifier to your brand.
Sorry but this is really not working at all for me.
It looks like your business is just called "design". That's not really making you stand out.
I have no idea what the symbol is. Is it a musical clef? An S? An F?
Check out what seasoned designers came up with as far as personal logos are concerned. Aim more for a kind of signature thing than a classic corporate symbol+word mark type of thing.
Keep in mind that the simpler, the better. But don't confuse simple with simplistic. Not complex with complicated.
As I said, do a whole lot of research (Pinterest is your new best friend) and then shut down your computer (or keep it on to listen to some cool music *cough*Mumford & Sons *cough* =) and grab a pen and a shit ton of paper and start sketching. Like a lot. Not just ew whimsy stick figures. I mean hundreds of ideas. Whatever goes through your mind, lay it down on paper. This how cool logos come to life. Explore. Experiment. Have fun.
i'm gonna have to agree with shawali on that one.
the letter/symbol? you have behind the word design looks way too big, and it doesn't match the style of the font you've used for your text.
i also don't like the font, as well as the 2 shades of purple you've used here.
you should maybe rethink the whole thing and get inspired by things you see online, or maybe try to draw a sketch with different ideas.
