Brief from client
I would say the client is me. This is a personal logo I wanted to revise for quite some time, I wanted to try a different look to make it look more art deco.

I like where this is going- it just needs some tweaks. The top of the T is not aligned and I think it might look better if the width was the same as the space between M and the bounding circle. Or make it taper off separate from the circle like on the right.
My other beef- and this is just my opinion- is the type. I think it would better without the title case. Good font choice for the style tho.
Lastly, should Michael and Thomas be on one line with Design underneath? Maybe even make Design smaller? This could just be personal preference too, but you are the brand- and you are a human not a company. If that makes sense.
Refine this, it's off to a good start.
Thanks for the advise. Makes sense, made some more revisions to this.
I'm not sold on the font- but lets see what some other folks here have to say.
I am liking the treatment of the T better now! =)
This font was definitely a step backwards.
If you're going to go for Art Decco, you need to go all the way with it or not at all.
The font, which looks suspiciously like a font squirrel font, but I could be wrong, looks like you're attempting to be art decco without really understanding that era of design.
This is an interesting - Eye catching - Icon - yet it does need some work. I basically agree with what joy said in the first post.
It is irking me that it reminds me of a logo in use that I cannot think of - so I could be wrong. But I will look.
I don't like the second T version - actually what I'm wondering is if there is a way to open up the top of the circle where the T is to match the opening of the M, I don't think the whole top of the T but maybe just an opening that lines up with the downwards stroke. You'd have to play with it.
Other - I like the font, don't like title caps and don't think Michael should be a reverse "orphan" of sorts. I imagine you were thinking people would read down then to the side, but that doesn't happen, so it reads as Micheal,
then "Thomas Design."
EDIT: I see you have done this in the second version - but definitely do not use that font. Try no title caps with the first, but the layout of the second.
Perhaps Michael Thomas
Design
may work, again, playtime! Great start.
Black is nice and classic and simple.
Here's an example - hope you don't mind I took a screenshot - it's just easier to explain, actually with the entire top T removed it doesn't look bad to me, but you would likely want to center the vertical stroke. The one opening didn't seem to work.
Good luck Mate!
I see a lot of good advise here I definitely agree with everyone on the font choice. Gonna make those changes thank you everyone.
Ok the pursuit continues. I implemented those ideas while adding some new ones to the mix here is another version of the logo hope everyone likes it.
Font looking good at first glance, yet more importantly, you are taking away from the nice icon with the 3 unnecessary squares.
Less is more, let's ditch the squares! Only my opinion....
Yeah wanted experiment with shapes to make it more art deco but hey it was worth a shot heres the other version.
