The idea is not bad, but the extreme orbital modification of the numeral 2 is too much to connect with visually, so it looks very much like the letter G. Maybe a more connected link between the numeral 2 and the letter L might help it?
I like the idea and concept. I agree with Laughing palm about the orbit issue. I like the orbit idea. You might be able to fix this by separating the blue orbit from the number 2 altogether. and make the blue orbit end at the cutout between the blue and gold.
Good idea, but... make sure the yellow contrasts enough on a white background so make it a little bit darker. If you use a gradient in the "orbiting" circle you should let a gradient come back somewhere else in the drawing. You could make the orbit a little bit smaller so the curve of the orbit can get around the curve at the top of the 2. Maybe do something with the accent on the i.
