I really dig it, but would it work without all of the striping that's going on there? If it was ever printed in a small format those would for sure get lost- but this is perfect for a big sign out front or for online stuff! (Although I'd kind of like to see it with a different font used!? Something more masculine perhaps?) I think it might be fun to see a different red used as well- a red that's less purple maybe!? But really, a lovely logo!
Outside of the pole being a little low on the shield (could be moved up a titch) it's a great logo! I'm a little surprised that "the barbershop" is the actual name of the barbershop? Not Salvatore's, Guido's or Frank's perhaps? :p or being in England, Charles's? James's? or Edward's? lol

Looking good!
I'd make the symbol (i don't know what it's called) a bit more prominent, since it's the only thing in the logo that says "barber shop"
And maybe I would use another font. Lobster is great but it's too great. We see it everywhere nowadays.
Anyway, good job!
great work
