Brief from client
A wine house in Mexico.
translation:
Casablanca (White House)
Casa de Vinos (House of wines)
its nice but doesnt say winehouse to me, maybe you could add some windows inside the bottle so its looks like a "winehouse" i also think the sub text is a bit to small, if you ever need any stationery done it will get lost. Very good start though!
I didn't think I'd like this when I clicked on it, but I wound up liking it quite a bit. It's simple, refined looking, and clean. The subtext might be a liiiiiiittle small though- that would practically disappear if it was shrunk down at all!
Would you consider (and this might be a terrible idea, but it crossed my mind so I'm putting it out there) trying a sans serif font?? Or maybe even just a sans for the 'blanca' portion? The wine bottle line is just so clean that it almost feels like it should lead into a sans font. Just an idea!
I only marked 'colors' as red because this is all black (obv). I'd be interested in seeing some colors tossed in- but it really does work just like this.
I feel that one little pop of color would take this logo to the next level. Maybe giving "Casa de Vinos" a vibrant color to bring it out more since the type is so light (which I am a fan of)
I like how clean this logo is, also that the symbol could be used in other applications. I like the different weights in the font, the only thing I could see is it might not be the most memorable but it looks good!
Leave it as it is. Your tagline is perfectly acceptable since you're designing a logo and not a billboard. The bottle shape is simple and familiar, yet gloriously effective, solid and classy. The fact that the whole package works perfectly in monochrome is an added bonus that can only indicate further its masterful quality.
Well done. Don't add colour, don't supersize the byline, don't draw a cartoon skyscraper and don't add any more typefaces. You've already found perfection.
