The first time I saw this, I wondered why the J was small and lower than the rest of the letters. I think the bounding box is truly distracting. It also resembles the SEGA Genesis logo (genesis in a box). Sketch a few ideas, go get design inspiration from logopond.com, and make your client give you a brief to work from beyond 'I need a logo that says Genesis.'

The wraparound is unnecessary. Have the G just be a regular G and it would automatically be a reasonably strong logo. I like the way the rest of the letters are connected. However, try to pair this type with a symbol, because I think this might be a little too simple.
