New logo for business

Brief from client
I'm currently buying a new logo for my website, curhost.com
It's slowly getting better, but I'd try out different fonts (the serif on this one is bugging me- and the kerning too) and the symbol still needs some serious work. Take out the gradient!!
Also, is this logo only ever going to be seen on a black background somehow? If not, you should think about uploading a version with a regular ol' white background...!?
So sthyregod, when you say you're 'buying' a new logo for your website, does that mean you're building these on a logo building website? Or is it that you're posting proposals that you have employed a design to produce and using the feed back to gude the designer? or are you designing these yourself?
This version is an improvement but i agree with saraqroxy, the font isn't a good match and it's all very tight, give the letters a bit of breathing space. I also agree that you should be working on a white background first until you have a logo that you are happy with and them figure out how to make it work on black.
