Ocean Ink Tattoo

Brief from client
The shop is located in RI. I wanted a seaside type feel with a little edge
it looks like this logo is created in a non vector program first of all. Its not very memorable neither. There are many other ways to give it a seaside feeling instead of using swirly patterns and splash brushes. Nothing really seems to work here. Sketch up some simplified design until you are happy with one that communicates your message successfully then submit again.
I like the concept, I think your headed in the right direction with colors and font, but it doesn't catch peoples attention or manage to get your point across.
Why did you mix it all? this is not good even for the sign.
Loose items, clarifies the concept of Tattoo and then enter the element water. But do it with simplified line without infiorature color and transparency.
I really dig this logo. My only fear is that it is too complex for small versions of this logo. You may want to do a alternate version to use in small instances. Also the work Ink kinda gets lost. May reverse it out, or play with an outline to the word, or even change the font.

don't think this works out at all. i'd lose this concept and try to brainstorm another one.

What if a want a tattoo of your logo in my arm:? how do you do that?
With "regulatory insight and resonant design execution" of course, what kind of question is that?
:D
It needs to be readable...
Simplify dude.
fix the kerning and make it simple, make the ocean plain light color give way to the word ink to make readable.
