Perfect Juice

Brief from client

The idea on this, was to produce a Juice logo with a fun retro style. The juice is made from super-foods like Wheat Grass and Broccoli Sprouts.

Perfect - True.
Idea has changed a little, still aimed towards the retro juice side. But will be more open to other juice flavours too. Icons will change to suit different fruits.

It's funny how I can almost immediately spot your logos just by looking at the thumbnails.

They usually are a tiny island of awesome in a see of meh.

I love this one. The red looks weird bu i think this comes from the download or the jpeg.

I'm not sure about the background, but that's just me.

Thanks Shawli

I'm not sure how far the client wishes to push into the exotic type of fruits like.. Lemons.. and oranges...(I know)

So I feel this may go towards the other style. I've produced quite a variety of options for the client. I've attached 6 of these ideas to this. Also, the background and texture is always optional.

Will be interesting to see how this goes. This is my favourite too, but i know the clients not soo easy. :)

Of these propositions, version 4 have the strongest identity. For me it's a slam dunk. But the world being so as imperfect as it is, the client always has the last word.

Maybe you could find middle ground between the red and purple version.

BTW, what font did you use for this logo?

I love love love this! The only thing I'd possibly change, is removing the smallest little grape up there above the T- it just seems too small or unnecessary!? But I really dig this, it actually makes me crave a juicy piece of fruit! Although I must add that I also really like one of the little thumbnails that you posted yesterday- the one that's just yellow and green! (Lower left corner)

Awesome job! (And I wanted to give green thumbs across the board, but it won't let me click them for some reason!?)

I'd be worried about your preferred logo's typography and colour similarities to Chupa Chups..

I have no idea what pixel is talking about here.... Other than a slightly similar font (and not even that really) they look nothing alike....

It seems you have an exact idea of what i am talking about because you said it, the fonts are slightly similar.

Let me clarify, there are three factors about this logo similar to chupa chup which individually wouldn't matter but combined could potentially put your client at risk from a trademark or a brand equity perspective:

1. Font similarities with cursive elements, particularly noticeable in the "u"s
2. Colour and layout similarity (stacked font)
3. Industry similarity - perishables FMCGs

When you factor in the branding extensions of Chupa Chups which includes imagery of fruit (half circle oranges etc.) then regardless of whether or not there are any potential trademark concerns, if the target market makes a connection between the two, brand value will be instantly diminished.

Considering the companies are operating in similar markets and the branding appears to position the companies in the same way (young, vibrant, playful) then any brand manager would be lying to themselves if they didn't perceive this as a real risk.

Just my observations.

But, The logo abovea (Salvador Dali) font, is a very close resemblance to Lobster? Colours are also.. different. Concept is different.... ?

Damn, I've never realized that it looks like Lobster. Or the other way around...

I agree with you, I do not see how the Chupa Chups logo resembles yours.

I came across this recently with the Chalksy issue I had. Salvador Dali himself promoting lobster.

Joe white you must tell me where you get your fonts from. They always turn out so beautiful!!! tell meeeee, teeeeellllll meeeeeeeee!!!

All in all another great logo, I personally love this one the best since the fruit pieces bring lots of character and makes me wanna drink something fruity! Nice work!

Edit: One thing that I forgot to mention is something minor, but just wanted to say that there's a lot of colors being used which may leave you with an expensive print. But oh well I'm sure it will look nice in a more limited color scheme nonetheless. Just something to think about :)

If it contains wheat grass and spouts why aren't they part of the logo? Retro it is!!!

Originally it was called 'Perfect Juice' Which was just the 2 flavours.. i think. Now its a broader range, The idea was the icons would be changeable to all sorts of fruits. Would be alot of fun to do. This way the packaging would be very simple.
